St. Albert's Fall Retreat

Last weekend I was on a beautiful retreat at Slumber Falls retreat center in New Braunfels. It was organized by St. Albert's young adults, and there were sixteen of us there, from Friday evening till about noon on Sunday.

The center is situated in a serene wooded area by the Guadalupe River. The trees by the water were in full fall colors, which looked like we are far away from Texas. The weather, mid 70's and all sunny, was perfect for being in the nature. We had two cabins, with four individual 4-bed rooms in each, and a common area cabin. The retreat included some talks, sharing and quiet time, confession and mass, and some praise and worship. The comity, our friends from St. Al, prepared great meals for us, even served us full candlelight dinner on Saturday! Of course, we had s'mores by the fire late at night, with some music from another group somewhere nearby.

The team worked for months organizing this retreat, and they did a fabulous job. They really put their hearts into it. Thank you for your servants hearts!

I came back very rested, energized and peaceful at the same time.
