A little birdie left us this present at our back yard door.
My first reaction was that it was from a young feathered mother who wasn't able to take care of the egg and left it at our door because she knew we have a bird, too. :) But in reality, this was probably a hollow egg from a young female bird who doesn't have a nest but her biological clock is making her produce eggs. I don't think it fell out of a nest, because there are no nests on a nearby tree, and the shell is intact.
